Recent interactions tell me that no matter what I write, someone gets offended. So, write your truth, people.

Which industry currently harbors the truly great thinkers? The expansive minds? The ones who can exert great change? Think big. Where will our next Da Vinci be able to blossom?

I want so badly to talk politics sometimes but then I remember that it gives me anxiety about the intelligence of others. I swore off it intentionally and have been calmer and happier since. But this attempt feels like the world is a bull and I’m the freaking toreador and I packed up my cape.

I’m really enjoying learning my second ukulele song, Zombie. The first one was Tainted Love. I’m curious to see if learning song number two pushes song number one out of my oatmeal brain.

Most ppl don’t know all the shit I’ve survived. But somehow I’ve still got trouble writing believable antagonists! Rrrgh. I need to work on making Lucky a little more real.

Finally got around to listening to the other half of Zuck’s testimony - before congress. I have to say that their questions were certainly better than the senate’s questions. He still had to repeat himself a LOT more than I’d expect.

100 Dunkin’ Donuts and not one Krispy Kreme. Last thing I need anyway but it’s just sad.

I just heard someone say ‘hap and chance’ instead of happenstance. I wonder what they think a hap is?

When you’re hearing about someone else’s worst hardship and realize that you’ve been through that but it wasn’t even bottom ten. #singlemomlife

Does anyone else remember when American schools stopped teaching civics? They combined it into social studies and then dropped it. I heard a while back, after I’d begun home schooling my children rather than deal with the nightmare that was public middle school, that they also dropped social studies entirely. Where can I find the curricula or syllabi these days for public schools? Does anyone know the full breakdown of sciences and humanities in high school? Is it as fully standardized as it is presented as being? I’d just like to know what the next generation has been taught. It seems highly relevant to today’s issues.

My first thought was how much I love the sunrise. Another good reason to wake with the sun, or stay up for it.

Do you prefer, in professional standard massage, same sex or opposite sex professionals? As an aside, WTH is the male version of an OBGYN?! I can’t think of it...

If you’re getting interviewed in an audio format, you need to drill leaving the uhs, erms, likes and you-knows out of your speech. I’m really interested in listening to the Chappaquiddick episode of the Writers Panel but I’m having so much trouble getting past the seven “likes” per sentence. I’m amazed this guy wasn’t edited into submission. Gah.

I see huge similarities between these teens, 2010-2020 so far, and the 1920s. So many that I feel a big shift in my current novel is in order.

Many years ago I tried to learn how to play a three-quarter size guitar; I made it about three months before I gave up entirely. My fingers were bleeding from the strings... really rough on my fingertips. Now trying to learn the ukulele, yes it hurts but the tension means than picking and strumming and forming chords is just much easier and the entire instrument fits between my folded arms... so at the moment I’m enthusiastic enough to wonder why anybody plays the guitar anymore at all.
