I don’t like when people who’ve never had twins tell someone with a perfectly normal belly that “woah, that belly! Sure it’s not twins?” That belly you think looks like twins full term is what I looked like at five months pregnant. Maybe four. A twin belly doesn’t look like you think it does. So, stop it. In fact, stop all the “Your belly?!” commentary in general. All you’re doing is making that soon-to-be mom self conscious or worried. These days anyone in their ninth month definitely already knows whether they’re having twins, and if their belly actually IS abnormal in any way, for instance polyhydramnios, you’ll have stepped right in it. If it’s just an excuse to have something to say so you can walk up and touch the belly, then just ask directly.
