I think the lesson I've learned most often in this life is the importance of really looking at how others see things. Empathy matters.

I wasn't buying the whole "don't send in your DNA, you're signing over your rights to it" thing, but I get about 50 paid ads a week right now on Facebook and similar, trying to convince me to try the DNA services. There absolutely cannot be enough profit in that service to warrant the kind of money they're spending to convince me, unless they found a way to profit off the back end of the service as well. Someone floating the services? Selling the aggregate data? Patenting all our DNA? I don't effing know, but I can tell you as someone who works in online marketing, they've dropped at least $500 into just trying to sell ME on it.

Still miffed that it's impossible or walk up traffic or people who live in Clearwater proper to get tickets to anything from the capitol theatre directly. My gift certificate expired while I was trying to use it, because I was expected to wait to get called back about it... twice. #waitingbythephone

My take on millennialls is that I hear you saying they're lazy and entitled and snowflakes but what I SEE is: young people whose parents are saddled with more debt than any other generation, so they work hard and often live at home still in order to help support their family. I see kids working double shifts at Starbucks taking your crap when you complain that it took twenty seconds longer than necessary to get your latte. I see them finding the job market in no way matches their educations, and that rent and insurance alone fills a paycheck. I find very hard working people who want success as much as their parents did, but whose tech or manufacturing starter jobs mostly got outsourced to cheaper countries. I see a very industrious generation that most of us raised completely inadequately to the demands of adult reality, but they adjust to meet the real world very quickly. I see far fewer drug addicts and slackers than I did in my own Gen-X. I know it's fun to make fun of the digital generation, but for the most part, I see people doing really well turning into adults.

Most of you know Clem has had odd nervous system issues for years, since the accident that resulted in her bionic hip. So... Zack put one of those magnet bracelets around her neck instead of her usual collar. She's been so calmed and happy and not twitching at all...

Just a note: "af" is neither an acceptable thing to write, nor will I accept that you're not really swearing. Do not ask me to back up this logic. You look and sound ridiculous, might as well be calling it "on fleek". Goodnight. Back to the dishes.

I'm having the damndest time trying to get a new lawn service RECOMMENDATION in Clearwater. Economical, good yard work. Mowing, raking, edging, that kind of thing. Everyone keeps recommending the guy I wasn't satisfied with (and who doesn't return my calls). Anyone recommend someone NOT named Mario?

Just spent twenty minutes on the phone with a very nice Rep at Progressive Insurance. Was looking to try to shave some of the cost, don't worry, no accidents. Anyway, the quality of customer service at Progressive is where everyone else's should be... these ladies have never let me down on professionalism and speed of service. I wish every other one of my creditors were so smooth with me.
