I've been alive for forty years. It's not freaking me out. It's motivating me, giving me perspective on how much time I have left and how much more I need to get done. It's stimulating. I think most crises of age result from the concept of eighty years, a life span, becoming utterly comprehensible. At forty, you've experienced as much time as you have ahead, in all likelihood. They call it over the hill. I would like to think it's over the foothills and finally climbing the mountain.
